SVA visit our region

Social Ventures Australia (SVA) recently visited our region to gain a stronger understanding of small rural settings and how ECEC and early years services can be effectively and sustainably provided.

Emma and Caitlin are part of the Early Years Team of SVA, who have a focus on changing systems, improving access to services, and supporting integrated early childhood programs across Australia. SVA also provide advice to Government on policy for children, so it was a great opportunity to share with them how we believe current national opportunities, such as Early Years Hubs and Thriving Children, can be best delivered in partnership with our small, but vibrant and functional communities, with children and families who deserve equitable service access.

Emma and Caitlin met with parents, children and staff at Beulah Primary School and Rainbow P–12 College. From the feedback and reflections they shared following the visit, it was clear the experience provided valuable first-hand insight into the potential of these schools as Early Years Hub settings. With the right infrastructure and support, these sites could accommodate integrated services including ECEC and kindergarten, alongside spaces for allied health, paediatrics, antenatal care, and Maternal and Child Health services.
