Catching up with our Friends of By Five
After a little while between catch ups, we met with our wonderful Friends of By Five crew recently for coffee and a chat about all things early years in the Wimmera. We were able to share with the group our current planning process we are going through here at By Five, and check that we are continuing to align with what they feel are their communities needs and values.
Covering the communities of St Arnaud, Apsley, Warracknabeal and Rainbow, the group spoke about the challenges and opportunities they are feeling at the moment, from childcare and kinder that is truly accessible, to the importance of playgroups and how much value they see playgroups offer to children, and parents, across the years before starting school.
We also touched on what we continue to learn about communicating effectively with important local leaders and services to keep the priorities of communities at the forefront of decision-making.
As always, we really enjoy these opportunities to meet, and value the conversations we have around the nuances of rural communities.
